Dal ban is not a remedy: Popular Front
Bhopal, October 9 (Pervez Bari): Popular Front of India chairman E. Abubacker
has stated that banning of Bajrang Dal would not be the remedy for ending
Hindutwa fascist atrocities against Christians and other minorities. Those who
cry for the Bajrang Dal ban as a panacea for assaults on minorities are either
simplifying or covering up the real structure and strategies of Hindutwa forces.
Abubacker in a Press statement said that as per the Sangh Parivar hierarchy,
Bajrang Dal is a militant wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, (VHP). All Sangh
Parivar outfits like VHP and BJP are controlled by RSS. Hence, banning Bajrang
Dal leaving RSS and VHP untouched would be a worthless exercise.
He reasoned that the very existence of RSS which was banned three times before
proved that mere ban would not help to control them. When RSS was banned, its
members were not even subjected to a close scrutiny. Needless to say, they were
not put to police harassments as being inflicted now on innocent Muslim youths
in the name of SIMI ban.
Abubacker pointed out that if the central and state governments are having
enough determination to suppress the criminals and check the atrocities, there
is no need of ban or black laws as the existing laws are sufficient. (pervezbari@eth.net)
