Congress MP joins BJP in Madhya Pradesh
Thursday 25th September, 2008, Manik Singh, the Congress parliamentarian from the Sidhi Lok Sabha constituency, Thursday joined Madhya Pradesh's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He joined the party in the presence of its national leaders including L.K. Advani, Rajnath Singh, M. Venkaiah naidu and others at the BJP workers' convention here.
Singh, who represents the tribal constituency, said he was not happy with the manner in which the tribal leadership was being sidelined in the Congress.
Sidhi is the home district of Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh.
Vasudev Dube, a former director general of police in Chhattisgarh who belongs to Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh, also joined the BJP.
