Giant leap in improvement of power transmission in MP claimed
Bhopal, May 27 (Pervez Bari): The power transmission system, which
bears the important responsibility of taking electricity to consumers,
has been strengthened stupendously during the last three years in
Madhya Pradesh.
According to claims of Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board,
consecutively every year 99 per cent success has been achieved in
availability during the last three years.
It was not a minor challenge to transmit the generated power to the
consumers. Taking this important fact under consideration, the present
state government had included power transmission in its priority list
soon after coming to power. The strategy chalked out in this
connection was implemented with firm determination as a result of
which this stupendous success was achieved by the state government.
The proof of this is that during the last 45 years the total capacity
of high tension sub-stations in the state was only 16,680 M.V.A. which
has been enhanced up to 26,167 M.V.A with 57 per cent increase.
The improvement of 57 per cent is in comparison to figures of the year
2002. The works worth special mention in this connection include
establishment of 63 new high tension sub-stations apart from
increasing the capacity of the existing sub-stations. A network of 212
circuit kilometres has been completed with the increased capacity.
According to experts, strengthening of power transmission system is
the result of adequate improvement in quality. Proper upkeep and
maintenance of this system during the last three years has ultimately
led to record 99 per cent success. This success has also been the
result of the giant leap taken by Madhya Pradesh over and above the
norms set by Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission. Not
only this but this success has been acknowledged as the best among the
states working on three voltages viz. 400 K.V., 220 K.V. and 132 K.V.
