Madhya Pradesh Home Secretary withdraws resignation
Bhopal, Jun 7: Madhya Pradesh Home Secretary Rajesh Rajora would
remain in the government service as he has withdrawn his resignation,
which was tendered in the wake of Income Tax (IT) Department's raids
at his residence here, official sources said today.
Dr Rajora tendered his resignation from the Indian Administrative
Service on moral grounds on May 30 just after the IT sleuths raids.
He withdrew the resignation yesterday however, he was still on leave.
''Dr Rajora did not submit the resignation letter in proper format
hence the state government was about to write a letter to asking him
to tender resignation in set format and submit three months of
salary,'' official sources said, adding meanwhile, he showed his
desire to remain in the service.
IT Department sources said the probe of documents -- seized from more
than 50 premises, including that of Health Department Director A K
Sharma, several officers, builders and contractors besides Dr Rajora
during the raids -- was in progress. This process may take some time
and later the final report would be submitted to the state government.
The raids were conducted due to the complaints regarding wide spread
irregularities.
The BJP-led state government was informed about the raids conducted on
the premises of government officials. Dr Rajora could not be contacted
over telephone.
Then Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi tendered his resignation on June 2
in the wake of volley of allegations of corruption and irregularities
following IT raids at his brother and Small Industry Corporation (Jabalpur)
officer Abahy Vishnoi and his acquaintances' residences.
Earlier, IT Department raided Health Director Yogiraj Sharma's
premises and documents seized during the process disclosed the
property worth Rs 100 crore a year back. In this regard, a final
report was in progress and would be presented to the state government
within a week.
Compulsory Retirement Scheme was provided to Dr Sharma after raids and
it was said after the IT Department's report state government may
register a criminal case against him, sources added. UNI
