Hindu
outfits oppose BJP Govt.’s move of allotting land for Hajj House in Bhopal
Bhopal, January 05 (Pervez Bari): About two and half dozen Hindu outfits have
come under one umbrella in the name of Hindu Sangharsh Morcha to thwart the
Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP), ruled Madhya Pradesh Government's move to pave
the way of constructing a Hajj House in the state capital Bhopal here.
The Madhya Pradesh Government has allotted about 1.7 acre of land on the
outskirts of Bhopal for Hajj House which is being opposed vehemently opposed
by 29 organisations of the saffron brigade under the banner of recently formed
Hindu Sangharsh Morcha. The activists of this Morcha led by Manoj Pradhan,
claiming to represent 29 rabble rousing Hindu outfits, staged a "dharna"
(sit-in) in the city on Sunday demanding to reconsider the decision of
allotment of land for the Hajj House.
Some of the names of the Hindu outfits supporting the Hindu Sangharsh Morcha
included Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Abhinav Bharat, Hindu Uthan,
Rashtriya Sikh Sangat (lone body of Sikhs), Rashtriya Hindu Sena, Bharatiya
Jan Shakti ( lone political party of Ms Uma Bharti, a former Chief Minister of
the state) etc.
The slogans raised by a handful of activists of the Morcha at the “dharna”
site were: “Muslim Tushtikaran Nahin Chalega, Hajj House Avantan Rad Karo”;
“Hindu Agar Jagrit Hogaya, Shivraj (Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister) Khogaya”;
Shivraj Ki Sadbudhi Ki Prathna Karo Jisne Hinduon Ki Bhavnao Se Khilwar Kiya
Hai” etc.
Pradhan said that Hajj activities occur hardly for about two weeks in a year,
thereafter the allotted land will be misused for the rest of the year; hence,
the Government should think twice before going ahead with the move. He
questioned the Government for being so lenient in allotting the land.
Recalling the episode of the Amarnath Shrine Board in Jammu & Kashmir, Pradhan
said that even after a nation-wide agitation the land was allotted with
several conditions and that too for two months only, then why the Madhya
Pradesh Government is so lax in allotting a separate piece of land for a
permanent Hajj House here. As such here is no need for its construction, he
added.
After staging a "dharna" for more than two hours, the members of the Hindu
Sangharsh Morcha also sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh
Chouhan stating their demand to annul the allotment and their point of view.
In the memorandum Morcha said that the whole world is victim of "Islamic
terrorism". Masajids, Madarsas, and other religious places are used as shelter
for terrorists. In these circumstances Hajj House construction would be a
dangerous step.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Muslim Sangh has ridiculed the "dharna" as a
stage-managed programme of the Congress. Sangh’s State general secretary
Noorullah Yousuf Zai in a Press statement has condemned those who organized a
sit-in against the Hajj House. He alleged that the demonstrators were acting
at the behest of the Congress, which fears of losing its traditional Muslim
vote bank by the move of the BJP Government.
Training guns at the Congress party, Zai said that if Congress is really a
well-wisher of Muslims then it should implement Sachchar Committee report
forthwith, (pervezbari@eth.net).
