Raj Thackeray’s Sick Mind Unable To Accept Muslim as PM of India: SDPI

Rs. 5500 cr. Demanded to Implement RTE Act in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, July 16 (Pervez Bari): The Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Madhya Pradesh Government has sought Rs. 5500 crore for implementing Right to Education Act in the state from the Union Government.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met the Union HRD Minister Kapil Sibbal on Thursday in New Delhi and reportedly made the above demand. He also demanded to change the ratio of state and central share in educating the child to 90:10 i.e. 90 per cent central share and 10 per cent state share. At present the ratio is 55:45. He said that the state is unable to spend such a large amount from its own resources.
According to an official Press release Chouhan also said that an amount of Rs. 418 crore is required to pay the arrears to the professors and readers of the universities after implementation of Sixth Pay Commission in universities as per the University Grants Commission, (UGC), recommendations. He said that the payment will be made after getting the requisite amount from the centre.
Chouhan said that 201 educationally backward centres have been marked for building Karsturba Gandhi model schools and girls hostel for which an amount of Rs. 38 lakh have been sanctioned. This is very insufficient. He called for increasing the amount to Rs. 85 lakhs per school and hostel. He called for setting up of Academic Authority for imparting teachers training etc. Likewise, norms have not been set up for teachers of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. All these will affect implementation of Right to Education Act in the state, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the sanction by the HRD Ministry for setting up of a World Class University has not been received yet. The state has already earmarked 600 acres of land for this purpose. The proposal is pending with the HRD Ministry. He also called for setting up of Bundelkhand University and asked to sanction Rs. 400 crore for the same.
Chouhan informed Kapil Sibbal that sanction for setting up a branch of Indian School of Mines at Singrauli is awaited. The State Government has already allotted land for the purpose, he said, the release stated. (pervezbari@eth.net)
