Inventors of Patents Felicitated
Bhopal, March 30 (Pervez Bari): R. K. Singh, Executive Director, BHEL,
Bhopal unit felicitated the Inventors of Patents and authors of
copyrights by presenting them a token incentive in a simple programme
held the other day.
While addressing the audience during the felicitation ceremony of 18
inventors and authors, he highlighted the importance of intellectual
property and urged upon the executives to come forward and register
the novel work as patent/copyright. He congratulated all the groups
for submitting applications for 27 patents and copyrights against a
target of 15 for the year 2007-08 and actuals of 8 in the year
2006-07.
In a letter , CP Singh, Director (E & RD) has also congratulated the
engineers of Bhopal Unit for filing patents / copyright.
S. K. Lomash, GM (TPTN & CET) & Chairman – Plant Intellectual Property
Evaluation Committee, (PIPEC), on the occasion said that BHEL Bhopal
has exceeded the target and filed all time high patents this year. He
asked Heads of all Engineering departments & executives to
systematically plan for filing of patents so that BHEL Bhopal can
achieve a target of atleast 100 patents in the year 2008-09.
Kishore Purswani, AGM (BEX & EME) and convener PIPEC informed that a
revised incentive scheme for grant of incentives at various levels of
patent applications has been made effective from 1st March 2008. Under
this scheme the applicant team can get awards upto Rs. 5000/- on
submission of patent application, upto Rs. 15,000/- on filing of
patent and upto Rs. 40,000 on grant of patent. He also informed that
23 patents and four copyrights have been submitted in the current
year, out of which, 15 applications have already been filed with
patent office.
Eighteen executives who were felicitated & given the token award for
filing application included the following: Vipul Agrawal, Anish
Varshney, Manbendra Bhakta, N.N. Nagar, Sharad Mehrotra, A.K. Das, R.K.
Girdonia, K. Prasad, A. Mandal, Praveen Alex, A.K. Zamindar, Awtar
Singh, R.K.Dikshit, Sanjeev Rastogi, Vivek Kamil, A. Sivalingam, Amita

Bhopal unit bags orders worth Rs. 69 cr.
Bhopal, March 30 (Pervez Bari):
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit has bagged
orders worth Rs. 69 crores for Transformers from M/s. North Eastern
Power Corporation Limited, (NEPCO), for their 4 X 150 MW Kameng HEP
outbidding MNC’s against stiff international competitive bidding.
The project is situated in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and the
scope of order includes 13 Nos. 400 kv Generator Transformers and 4
nos. of 400 kv Auto Transformers besides other dry type Transformers.
It is notable that BHEL make transformers have the credit to have
passed all tests at Keema, Netherlands and CPRI in a series and are
